Sustainalytics Honored with Three Awards by The Asset for Its External Reviews of Sustainability Bonds and Linked Loans
July 23, 2020, Sydney– Sustainalytics, a leading global provider of ESG research, ratings and data, has been awarded three Triple A Asia Infrastructure Awards 2020 by The Asset, Asia’s leading financial publication for issuers and investors. As the largest second-party opinion provider, Sustainalytics was honored for providing external reviews on landmark sustainability bonds and sustainability-linked loans in the Asia-Pacific region.
Sustainalytics was recognized in the Regional Transport Deal of the Year, Australia Green Project of the Year and Australia Transport Deal of the Year – Airport categories for providing external reviews for New South Wales (NSW) Treasury Corporation’s AUS $1.8 billion sustainability bond, and Sydney Airport Finance Company’s AUS $1.4 billion syndicated sustainability-linked loan. The Asset noted that Sydney Airport’s landmark transaction is the first of its kind in Australia, the largest across Asia-Pacific and the largest of all airports globally. While the NSW Treasury Corporation sustainability bond is the largest Australian dollar sustainability bond and the first sustainability bond from an Australian semi-government issuer.
Green, social, and sustainability bonds in the Asia-Pacific market jointly reached USD $187 billion in 2019, according to industry sources.
