Tennessee Valley Authority(TVA) engages in the production and sale of electricity in the United States. TVA manages the Tennessee River, its tributaries, and certain shorelines to provide, year-round navigation, flood damage reduction, and affordable and reliable electricity and it also manages the river system and public lands to provide recreational opportunities, adequate water supply, improved water quality, cultural and natural resource protection, and economic development. TVA generates power from coal-fired, nuclear, hydroelectric, and natural gas and/or oil-fired facilities.
